Photography for spaces that are hard to photograph

Broadcast and AV facilities, historic and spiritual interiors, and landscapes — commissioned by systems integrators, manufacturers, architects and publishers.

You keep every right to every image.

Unlike many commercial photographers, who retain complete rights to their images, I share all rights with you. Use every image, in any way you like, for as long as you like. There are no per-image fees beyond the original commission. It saves my clients a great deal of money, and gives them a flexibility few commercial photographers offer.

My photography has appeared in magazine articles, advertisements, book covers, websites, marketing materials, public spaces and many other venues. It has covered nearly every genre, but I specialize in three uniquely challenging ones.

A broadcast television studio: lit set, monitor walls and a studio camera on the floor

Technical spaces

Three decades designing and building some of the most forward-looking spaces in media technology make this a natural specialty: broadcast, AV and media-centric technology facilities. The job is to capture not just the image, but the design and the workmanship that set these spaces apart. Commissioned by systems integrators, manufacturers, architects and publishers.

Historic and spiritual spaces

A lifelong love of history turned into a passion for photographing historic and spiritual spaces. The challenge is capturing the atmosphere of a room while taking special care to preserve it: wherever possible I shoot with natural light, and when extra light is needed I use special low-UV lamps to protect colors and fabrics. This work has appeared in magazines, books, marketing materials, websites, personal spaces and museums.

High-impact landscapes and abandoned spaces

Living in Virginia and Vermont, and traveling worldwide, I have built a reputation for high-impact images of landscapes and abandoned places. This work has appeared in magazines, websites, museums and private collections.

So what can I do for you?

If you have a project, I’d love to talk to you about it. Let’s put skill and imagination to work.
